On September 25th and 27th the Fine Arts Center dance and painting students traveled to the Greenville County Museum of Art. On the 25th, Martha Severens guided the students through the Jasper Johns’ exhibit giving insight into the artist’s work. The following visit on the 27th, students used the concepts and elements of visual design and dance composition. Students drew sketches and then moved in the gallery space itself creating shapes, lines and tableaus.

Guest Artist, Lisa Wheeler set two pieces of choreography on the Fine Arts Center Dancers in February. The pieces "A Gentle Release of Gravity" and "Shift" will be performed in the School District Dance Showcase on April 15th in the Wade Hampton High School Theatre. Curtain is at 3:00.

On Saturday, January 27th, Fine Arts Center dancers performed dance improvisations at the Greenville County Museum of Art as part of their "Color in Motion" family workshop. The dancers improvised to the paintings of Marilyn Dintenfass and with music performed by Jeff Holland. The dancers created shapes and movements so that the audience members could follow and interact with them.

On Saturday, January 27th, Fine Arts Center dancers will perform dance improvisations at the Greenville County Museum of Art as part of their "Color in Motion" family workshop. It will begin at 2:30 and will explore the paintings of Marilyn Dintenfass along with other performers Jeff Holland and Christy Garland. Fine Arts Center dancer explains how her choreography relates to the work of Jasper Johns following the performance by the Fine Arts Center Dance Ensemble in the Greenville County Museum of Art. Several students will again dance in the Art Museum on Saturday, January 27th beginning at 2:30. The dancers will move improvisationally to the paintings of Marilyn Dintenfass.
